As a cultural institution, the Atatürk Cultural Center has been redesigned and rebuilt for the third time, preserving the aesthetic, urban, and architectural values of Türkiye’s realized modern architectural heritage.
Murat Tabanlıoğlu presented an overview of the transformation of AKM from the 1930s to the present, addressing the structures of the 1960s alongside the industrial and urban capacities of their time, and reflecting on today’s cultural architecture through a comparison between the “past” and the “present.”
