“The Serial Nature of Photography” was held at İskele on Saturday, January 8, 2022, between 11:00 and 16:00, under the guidance of architect and architectural photographer Hacer Bozkurt.
It was emphasized that photography, much like the spaces we inhabit, consists of multiple layers that come together to tell stories. Whether to point out something we appreciate, express an idea, or construct a well-designed narrative, the organization of these layers was discussed as a key element of photographic practice. The workshop explored questions such as why we take photographs, what we aim to convey through them, and how the narrative evolves as images accumulate.
The workshop began with a presentation on basic composition techniques, followed by a photography session in the streets of Kuzguncuk. In the final stage, the photographs taken were brought together to create a space for collective discussion.
