18.45 Talks | Design with Local Values and Cultural Sustainability • Architect and fashion designer Niyazi Erdoğan shared the journey that began with his growing interest in fashion after completing his architectural education, presenting examples from his work. Design with Local Values and Cultural Sustainability took place at İskele on Thursday, 30 June, at 18.45.
After completing his architectural education at Istanbul Technical University in 1999, Niyazi Erdoğan became a finalist in the İTKİB Young Fashion Designers Competition in 2003. Between 2009 and 2014, he presented collections under his eponymous label at Istanbul Fashion Week. He also prepared collections for international brands including Zara, Esprit, Pull&Bear and Tommy Hilfiger through Eroni, where he was a partner and design director. Erdoğan was selected for Fashion Incube, Türkiye’s first fashion entrepreneurship centre, where he received training in branding for four years. Alongside his work as a designer, he serves on the Board of Directors of the Fashion Designers Association.
