DESCRIPTION:18.45 Talks | Earth as the Subject of Design • The talk featured architect and designer Çağlar İşbilir and Can Cumalı\, founders of Mono Earth\, which aims to make nature the subject of design. The discussion explored different uses of earth as a material in art and design. Earth as the Subject of Design took place at İskele on Thursday\, 2 June\, at 18.45.\r\n\r\nFounded by Çağlar İşbilir and Can Cumalı\, Mono Earth explored the potential of earth in different contexts by carefully working with the material and bringing the beauty of nature into design. Through works that interpreted belonging\, tactility\, layering and unpredictability with reference to the material’s inherent qualities and a simple design language\, the talk considered ways of reintroducing earth into spaces from which it has gradually disappeared.
