DESCRIPTION:Urban Dialogues | The Bosphorus • Writer and academic Murat Belge discussed the history\, culture\, architecture and people of the Bosphorus through his own life experiences. The Bosphorus took place at İskele on Saturday\, 4 June\, at 14.00.\r\n\r\nMurat Belge was born in 1943 and graduated from the Department of English Language and Literature at Istanbul University’s Faculty of Letters. He wrote for the magazines Halkın Dostları\, Birikim\, Yeni Dergi\, Yeni Gündem\, Milliyet Sanat and Papirüs\, as well as the newspapers Cumhuriyet\, Demokrat\, Milliyet\, Radikal and Taraf. In 1983\, he founded İletişim Publications.\r\n\r\nSince 1996\, he has served as Head of the Department of Comparative Literature at Istanbul Bilgi University\, which established Türkiye’s first comparative literature department\, and continues to teach literature there.\r\n\r\nBelge is known for the cultural tours he organises in Istanbul’s historic districts and along the Bosphorus. He has authored books on food and culinary culture\, travel\, and popular history\, as well as a travel guide.
