DESCRIPTION:Library Meetings | Design Democracy and Istanbul • Design Democracy and Istanbul\, written by architect and academic Ece Ceylan Baba\, was discussed with Büşra Uysal and Özgen Yediyıldız\, who conducted research on the book. The Library Meetings event took place at the Design Library on Wednesday\, 29 June\, at 19.00.\r\n\r\nLibrary Meetings is an event series focusing on books written in the fields of design. It aims to bring authors and readers together while creating space for different ideas and perspectives.\r\n\r\nDesign Democracy and Istanbul | A state in which professional knowledge and everyday life\, or in other words\, designers and city dwellers\, work side by side and learn from their shared experiences. A democratic and humane approach\, perhaps the way things should be... But what happens when contemporary conditions are added to this situation? If the global order and the relentless pace of life in metropolitan cities place the designer\, the city dweller and the investor under the same pressure\, how should we coexist? We do not know how much longer our new world\, in which interconnectedness increases every day and the boundaries between cities and countries grow increasingly blurred\, can endure becoming a single place.
