İskele Design Acceleration Project is an 18 months project that is financially supported by Ministry of Industry and Technology and Istanbul Development Agency. The executive of the project is the Turkish Design Council. The partners of the project are Üsküdar Municipality, Istanbul Chamber of Industry and ITU ARI Teknokent.
İskele Design Acceleration Project; it aims to contribute to the social and economic development of Istanbul and Turkey with a design-oriented approach by creating an ecosystem that will provide a multidisciplinary production and learning ground for design students, new graduates and professionals.
"İskele Acceleration Center" will be put into operation, which provides a workshop with a production laboratory, activities and a collaborative work area where students, new graduates and professionals in the field of design can realize their potential with the help of technology, where they can do R&D, prototype and develop their ideas.
Within the scope of the "İskele Acceleration Program" to be provided within the scope of the project, activities, trainings and workshops will be organized for all people in the design disciplines, enabling designers to meet the industry at an early stage and their development processes will be accelerated by establishing contact with mentors in the network. In addition to this scope, talented young people will be discovered, and the qualified human resources needed by the design industry in Turkey will be supported, and everyone who will take part in the design disciplines will be supported to establish their own initiatives.
Another of the objectives of the İskele Design Acceleration Project is to expand the possibilities of the Design Library of Turkish Design Council, which has been going on for many years, to the benefit of stakeholders in all design disciplines, and to spread design awareness throughout Turkey with library talks and events.
